MS Ellen Boersma

Ellen is our advisor on renewable energy and impact measurement,  helping our advisors in the selection and the due diligence or projects expanding affordable and clean energy for the people of Africa. She is also assisting Afrilanthropy connect with funds and investors focused on renewable energy.

Ellen has a long track record of numerous management positions throughout 20 years in the Renewable Energy and the Impact industry. Her experience as a lawyer, strategic advisor and Director of a clean energy company, taught her how to turn a long-term vision with a strong commitment into the achievement of a sustainable societal impact value. She believes strongly in the long-term responsibility of people, making use of this planet and its opportunities but also in the responsibility that we have in regard to future generations.

Developing value propositions in order to create shared value for companies and society is her passion. These new value propositions can be achieved by having insight into a broader scope of economic value-added elements, positive societal impact and the principles of change management, leading to an adjusted strategy and innovative business ideas. During her professional career she developed several initiatives, identifying the opportunities that impact strategies hold. This includes advising on (the set-up of) investment vehicles and (revolving) fund structures to take advantage of those new opportunities.
