The project

Athletes for Change (A4C) is a unique platform to support athletes in their philanthropic activities, by showcasing their passions and values and promoting their favorite charitable initiatives, co-creating new projects with fellow athletes and partners, and identifying trusted causes to support. A4C is also a learning community, enabling athletes to engage with and learn from one another on how to maximize their impact.

The projects connects athletes with vetted NGOs and social enterprises across the sports sector and beyond, assisting them in delivering philanthropic interventions and becoming drivers of community impact and social innovation.

Participating athlete change-maker will pledge to undertake a number of actions and join the platform with his or her dedicated profile, linked to their main social media accounts, where they can promote their philanthropic activities and areas of interest, both thematic and geographical.

Key Objectives

Curated Portfolio: Provide athletes with a tailored selection of vetted NGOs and social enterprises aligned with their passions.

Co-Creation: Enable athlete change-makers to help design and launch new community-driven social projects.

Community of Practice: Facilitate peer learning, knowledge-sharing, and joint campaigns among participating athletes.

Scaling Impact: Engage sports clubs, federations, and brands to amplify social returns on investment and extend reach to grassroots programmes.

Matchmaking platform featuring athlete profiles, advanced search filters, and a dynamic project feed.

Regular virtual forums and workshops connecting athletes with NGOs, mentors, and each other for shared learning.

Impact dashboards and storytelling tools, empowering athletes to showcase outcomes to fans, sponsors, and media.

An expanding pan-European network that connects athletes, organizations and projects to ensure regional relevance and sustainability.
